O+O Review: Organic, healing oils for your every need!

{The giveaway offered in this post ended on April 9th.  Use coupon code "alittleblueberry" on O+O's website for 15% off until April 12th at 11pm CST.}

Ok, you got me, I'm a hippie at heart.  My students always call me a hippie and I have to explain to them that I'm not a hippie, but am just someone who cares about the environment, the products I use in my house and on my skin (and Lemon's) and who enjoys yoga.  Try to explain that to a bunch of teenagers in an inner city school - I think their word for all of that is just hippie.  So, I guess I am a modern day hippie and I just have to embrace it.  Well, the hippie in me is so glad I found these products and got a chance to review them; and got to know the sweet mama behind them too.  I am also excited that I get to offer you a set of them in a giveaway because I just love them so much!  (Scroll down for more information.)

This week I had the pleasure of working with Jillian from O+O, her new company that sells organic oils that help in so many ways.  I have tried these oils and they are amazing, so amazing that I just ordered more!  Jillian is super sweet, has the cutest little one year old, Genevieve, and has created this business out of passion and because she wants to continue to stay home with her little girl.  You guys know that I love helping other moms, and promoting their businesses, and I think this is definitely one to support!

Jillian started this business because she used coconut oil as a diaper cream (she cloth diapers like us and it really is the best, all natural option for cloth diapers) but couldn't find a container small enough to keep in the diaper bag.  So, she created a base formula, added essential oils and now sells three different options that all do a myriad of things, they can be used for SO much more than just a diaper cream!  (They are oils, yes, but because of what is in them, and the formula she has created, they soak into your skin and are less "oily" when you use them.)

From Jillian:  "For my family, O+O blends have replaced Neosporin, hydrogen peroxide, conditioner, face lotion, ibuprofen/Tylenol, body lotion, deodorant, sunscreen, bug repellant, icy hot, sinus congestion medicine, Chapstick and diaper rash cream in the past 24 hours alone.  I am saving so much money, storage space and waste by using my products!  We are also leaving all of those chemicals behind because these are all natural and organic oils!"

I agree with Jillian when it comes to my family, why spend so much and subject yourself (and your little ones) to all of those chemicals?  After Christmas this year, when my bestie gave each of our girlfriends a gift set of homemade, all natural things to use on our face, body and hair, I haven't gone back and only wash with a mixture of shea butter and sugar in the shower.  And remember my beachy waves post?  Apple cider vinegar and water is the BEST detangler and frizz controller!  When Jillian contacted me about her new company I knew it was something I wanted to get behind and support, how could I not?  I just can't believe all of the things her oil blends can do!

She adds:  "Between all three blends some of the many benefits are:  They are anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-aging, antimicrobial, antiviral and are a decongestant (mint/eucalyptus blend).  They can also be used for dry skin, chapped lips, as a SPF 10 sunscreen, muscle spasms, headaches, joint/ligament pain, diaper rash, eczema, psoriasis, cuts/scrapes/burns and also act as mood elevating or balancing agents."

Jillian sent me two, one ounce trial containers of her lavender blend and peppermint/eucalyptus blend.  Ian loved the peppermint/eucalyptus blend for sore muscles and because he has a bad back, he could just rub it on and it acts like an all natural icy hot.  I loved the lavender blend for Lemon's diaper rash, to run through the ends of my hair after the shower and as a moisturizer on our dry skin (Arizona problems).  I really had no idea that there were so many uses for Jillian's oil blends - they are amazing!

Jillian offers three blends:  lemongrass, peppermint/eucalyptus and lavender and suggests the lavender for use on babies because it is the most gentle.  She sells a gift set of two, one ounce jars of your choice of oils for $12.50 (shipping included), a 2 ounce jar for $7.50 (plus shipping) and a 4 ounce jar for $9.50 (plus shipping).  Her packaging is cute, bright, is recycled and her jars are glass and do not leak, perfect for taking on the go!  She also makes each jar to order and guarantees that she will make your blend and send it out to you within 3 days!  (If you want to learn more about the benefits of each blend, visit her shop, her Instagram and "like" her Facebook page or just click her shop button, on the left under "Featured Shops!")

If you want to know more about Jillian's products and what they can do, we did a FaceTime interview this week and it was so fun!  I wanted you to see how passionate she was about these oils, what a cute mama she is and hear, from her, why she started this business and how it helps her family.  And, at the end, you get to see Genevieve and Lemon "meeting" for the first time!  If you want to know more about these awesome oils, and hear all of the success stories Jillian has had with people who have used her products - please watch!

  1. I would love to win these oil blends! We are moving into all natural cleaners for ourselves and our home. These sound right in line with that. Also, we cloth diaper and are prone to diaper rash- I'd love to try something new.

    I recently had my first child, before I had her I always said I would never care about organic products or cloth diapers or anything like that. Now that I have had her she is full - time cloth diapers now, exclusively breastfed and I plan on making her baby food as well when we get to that point. I have been wanting to try these oils ever since I first seen them! I am absolutely obsessed with anything organic or natural. I have learned after having her I only want the best for her! Maybe I am a slight bit hippie but I am proud :)

  5. These oils sound absolutely wonderful! I would like to win because i think they might really be a game changer for me. I have a stomach disorder and struggle every day with many awful symptoms. Nutrition and healthy life choices are not easy to accomplish with what I have, leaving me with aches, migraines, and bad skin (just to name a few) I am hoping to win these oils to see if they can relieve some of my discomfort and lead to a more natural and healthful life style.
