Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

You know what the BEST part about having a blog is?  Looking back at significant events and seeing what you did, what is still the same and what has changed.  I blogged about our 2nd wedding anniversary here, our 3rd here and our 4th here and today I blog about our 5th - where has the time gone?!

This year we did the same as we, apparently, always do - we went to the zoo!  One of our favorite spots in the valley and also where we got married (no animals were present).  We chose to get married at the zoo because they are a non-profit, all the money you spend goes towards taking care of the animals, it is the only tropical/lush/green natural spot in Arizona and it is less than 5 minutes away from our house.  We opened our present from my bestie, telling us Lemon's gender there, and took our very first, professional pictures there (our first set of engagement photos).  The zoo is just so special to us and of course we love visiting all of the animals too!

Since this is our 5 year anniversary, here are some photos from our wedding:

And us trying to, hastily, recreate some photos this year (with a gorilla pod and remote!):

We took the day off of work, to spend as a family, and I swore off the internet (including Instagram) for the whole day!  I wanted to be present and spend as much time with my family as possible.  It was tough but oh so fun!  After making raspberry muffins for my family (and finding a heart shaped strawberry!), we were off to the mall for a bit:

A grumpy, tired toddler.

After Lemon's nap we were off to the zoo!  She slept so long we didn't have much time but it was still so fun, and will probably be our last zoo trip until we are off for the summer.

What really happens in between me trying to get a good picture!

2014 - our wedding spot

2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 - same spot!

That night we took our girl to dinner but the next night Brittany came over to babysit and we went to dinner alone!  It was a much needed night out but we ended up going late and were so tired by the time we got home.

It was such a lovely day spent with my little family and I am so proud to have such an awesome husband who takes care of us and works so hard for our family.  We have been together almost 10 years and the past five have just FLOWN by, it's crazy to think about what the next five years will bring, and what our pictures will look like!  Happy Anniversary Ian, I love you.
